We had dinner with family and some presents. Emma wanted to get TD a "dancing dinosaur". When we went to the store she showed me just what she meant and it was $300.00 out of our price range...so, she selected a kangaroo for $3.50. Love her generous heart.
Thane was thrilled with his kangaroo and enjoys chewing on it. Yes, he is getting more teeth too--he is up to 12.
The birthday boy and his ice cream & cupcake.
Happy about the thought of eating--anything, anytime.
TD LOVES to be outside.
He didn't love the ice cream and cake...though it is likely his distaste won't last. (He is our boy after all!)
Thane weighed in 24 lbs and 39 inches tall at 12 months old. He blows kisses, signs please, more, milk and water. He understands simple commands and says Emma, Mama, Dadda, Nana and something that sounds like peas for please. He loves kisses--getting and giving juicy, open-mouthed kisses. He loves all food, all the time and eating things that aren't food too. He likes to test what will happen when he throws it, drops it, smears it in his hair etc. He has a healthy gag reflex...so we get a lot of exciting meal-time shows when he puts too much food into his mouth at the same time. We count on him needing a bath after dinner and lunch most days.
Life is full and so fun.

I'm wondering if the ice cream was too cold and he was sort of afraid of it. Or maybe he didn't like being so sticky...
In any case, it's a cute video, and I bet he'll come around to the sweet stuff soon.
SUch cute kids. I'm glad that you can keep a smile when discussing how we lost Dave and seeing the joy Thane takes in fruit. Don't know when we will see you all again. I may do quick trips to Utah in October, April, and myabe even January. Life is still up in the air, now that Brent is in NYC.
