Catching up on 2010-Thanksgiving

My sister Karyn braved the slick icy mountain passes through Montana to come and pick up Thane, Emma and I so we could come for Thanksgiving. She said it was to pick up berries we had picked this summer and were storing for her. She also was going to pick up the apples I had picked up for her, but who else is crazy enough to drive through the day in freezing snow/ice so that we can come visit? And, she drove us home to her house the next day???
We were blessed with safety even with a few scares on the winter roads and we had a marvelous time. While we were there the mercury dropped to 22 below zero on the worst days, and came up to 45 before we left. Thankfully the house is always warm and there are always happy kids to play with. We enjoyed doing chores-feeding the chickens, sheep, cats, dogs, and bringing in wood for the fire. Thane only stayed in bed when he knew he could ride the tractor the next day if he did. He said good night to the tractor outside every night. Seriously.
Emma loved playing with cousins and their pet dogs Kojack and Keira. She had a wonderful time. Spence was able to make it for Thanksgiving which made us grateful. We also enjoyed the snow, the sled dog rides, and tubing behind the four-wheeler. Lots of great memories in just a few days!
